share

At noon ET (UTC -4) on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, our panel discussed creating solidarity through music in the struggle for social justice.

Guests include:

- Sama'an Ashrawi, filmmaker and music producer
- Kam Franklin, singer and songwriter
- Kareem Samara, musician, composer, and sound artist
- Karin Ryan, Sr. Advisor for Human Rights, The Carter Center, moderator

This roundtable illustrated the solidarity between the Palestinian and African-American struggle for human rights while living under settler-colonial ideologies and governments. We will discuss how music elevates these struggles and brings attention to the human rights of the oppressed.
