The Future We Want: Outcome document of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development

The United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, or Rio+20, took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in June 2012.

It resulted in a focused political outcome document, "The Future We Want," which contains clear and practical measures for implementing sustainable development.
The Heads of State, Government, and high-level representatives renewed their commitment to sustainable development and to ensuring the promotion of an economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable future for our planet and for present and future generations.

They acknowledged the need to further mainstream sustainable development at all levels, integrating economic, social, and environmental aspects and recognizing their interlinkages, so as to achieve sustainable development in all its dimensions.
