Collen Wessel-McCoy, PhD is part of the Kairos Center for Religions, Rights and Social Justice at Union Theological Seminary in New York City and the Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival. Her organizing work draws from the history of Rev Dr Martin Luther King, Jr's vision for a Poor People's Campaign in 1968. It it the poor across race and ethnic lines would become the leadership for a human rights movement that could take on the triple evils of racism, poverty, and war.
